GARMENT CARE
FITSO garments are made with high quality materials and expertly designed for the best fit and style. We recommend extra care when cleaning these garments.
- Wash your activewear separately from your other clothes
- Wash in cold water. Hot water can cause clothes to shrink, stretch or lose their shape. When you do a load of laundry (with hot water in particular), microfibers shed from synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon into the water. Research says the average household in the U.S. and Canada releases 500 million microfibers into the water system per year. Using cold water limits the microfibers released into the water system
- Use mild or high-performance fabric laundry detergent. Be sure not to use too much as it can leave detergent residue on your garments after washing
- Wash on a gentle cycle with an extra rinse selected
- Do not use fabric softener. Why? Well, when you use a fabric softener, your clothing is coated with a chemical layer. These chemicals will block up the pores in the synthetic materials, reducing their ability to wick away moisture
- Hang your clothes to dry. Do not use the dryer
- Do not iron your clothes
Some fibers hold odors more than others; this is natural and it is common for body odors to become embedded in polyester fibers long-term. One solution is to wash in a solution of distilled white vinegar + baking soda + laundry detergent; this will also help remove bacteria.
