Some Days You Just Don't Want to Stand Out

And that's not a body image problem. That's just Wednesday.

There's a version of body positivity that says you should always want to take up space. Always want to be seen. Always be ready to walk into a room like you own it.

And some days? Absolutely. Let's go.

But some days the inner critic is loud. Some days the crowd feels like too much. Some days you're in an airport or a mall or a work event and you just want to move through the world without fanfare. Without feeling like your body is the most interesting thing in the room.

That's not a flaw. That's not a setback. That's just a hard day, and hard days deserve tools.

A customer told me something recently I haven't stopped thinking about. She said wearing a belt bag around her belly — right on it, flush against her — gave her something she didn't expect. Not confidence in the performative sense. Something quieter. The bag became armor. The color, the hardware, the intention of it. And her belly just... took a back seat. Not gone. Not hidden. Just not the focal point anymore.

She said she felt like she could blend in and felt protected by the bag around her belly.

That's the tool. That's what it does.

We didn't make FITSO belt bags because fat bodies need accessories to be acceptable. We made them because fat people navigate a world that sometimes requires standing out and sometimes requires blending in, and sometimes you want something in your corner on the days when you don't have the bandwidth to be perceived. Something warm and snug - a hug that quietly says: I've got you.

The bag doesn't fix anything. There's nothing to fix. But on the days when you just want to move through a crowd and allow your internal voice some quiet time — it's there. In your size. Ready when you need it.

That's enough of a reason.
